TIR PRINCE AND S4C AGREE CROCK OF GOLD FINAL

Following extensive discussions between S4C and Geraint Lewis of Slam Media and Tir Prince it has been agreed that there will be a Crock of Gold final (and heats) at Tir Prince on Saturday 21st July, the date is reliant on the BHRC agreeing a date change from Tuesday 24th July to the 21st July.

David Senior commented ” Whilst we really wanted to retain Rasus as a series of racing as in previous years across Wales, we were pursuaded that the single date offered to Amman Valley in June and the date of 21st July was the best we were going to get this year and we are now going to turn this into a positive force (Rasus will also screen 11 hours from Tregaron at the end of August). I was desperate to keep the Crock of Gold going and came up with the idea of running it like The Little Brown Jug in the US with free for all heats and final on 21st July. Fortunately Geraint and S4C agreed and between us we have found the £5000 prize money that was paid last year. Initial comments have all been positive and it is starting to create a real buzz. Once we get the go ahead for the date change we will start to work on building up the card so that it will be a memorable event. I want to thank S4C for their continued support of harness racing and Geraint for all his hard work.”

Market re-open 25th Feb

Heres one for your diary, 25th February Tir Prince Market and Car boot will be open for 2012. We will then be open every Saturday until December. Sundays will start around Easter time.

Here at Tir Prince you can hire our newly refurbished cafe and bar for your childrens parties.

You can have anything from basic room hire to letting us take care of everything from food, drinks, entertainment, bouncy castles and theming.

We can supply fresh hot food from our kitchen and when booked in advance, we can also open the bar.

Our spacious open plan room means everything can be under one roof.

Tickets are now on sale at the bar/cafe at Tir Prince on Wednesday, Friday Saturday and Sunday at Deli-t-Full Sandwich shop 10 Bodfor Street Rhyl (opposite Argos) from 9am till 4pm Monday to Saturday and on Ticketmaster/Ticketwed 24/7. Price £12.50 for adults and £7.50 for under 16’s with an adult. Car parking is free. Gates open at 6pm, racing starts at 7pm, we are expecting a huge crowd so pre book your ticket to ensure entry. There will be a meeting of NWSA and Friends of Tir Prince at Rhyl Sports and Social Club, 78 Wellington Road, Rhyl, LL18 1LH at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 3rd February.

Matters for discussion are: Feedback from recent BHRC meeting, The Roosevelt and the Prakas, NWSA 3 and 4 year old racing, Annual Subscriptions, Fundraising and new 200 Club. ALL WELCOME.
